Imagine the plight of Elizabeth, who was childless despite being married for many years. So while Elizabeth had been living righteously Luke , her neighbors and relatives may have suspected otherwise. Nonetheless, Elizabeth and her husband continued to serve the Lord faithfully. Then, when both were well advanced in years, a miracle occurred. God heard her prayer v.
He loves to show us His favor v. And though He may seem to delay, His timing is always right and His wisdom always perfect. Do you feel inadequate because you seem to lack something—a university degree, a spouse, a child, a job, a house?
Keep living for Him faithfully and waiting patiently for Him and His plan, just as Elizabeth did. No matter our circumstances, God is working in and through us. He knows your heart. He hears your prayers. Diane listened as the others in the group asked for prayers for their family members and friends facing challenges or illness. She had a family member who had been struggling with an addiction for years. But Diane kept her request silent.
She felt that this request was usually better left unspoken. Others simply did not understand how her loved one could be a Christian and still struggle daily. Although Diane did not share her request with that group, she did have a few trusted friends she asked to pray with her. Together they asked God to set her loved one free from the very real bondage of addiction that he might experience freedom in Christ—and that God would give Diane the peace and patience she needed.
As she prayed, she found comfort and strength from her relationship with the Lord. Many of us have earnest, persistent prayers that seem to go unanswered.
But we can be assured that God does care and He does hear all our requests. We can lean on Him. The job took days longer than expected, and each morning I prayed we would finish by sunset. But every evening there was more to be done. I wondered why.

Could there be a reason for the delay? An answer came the next morning. You need to come immediately. She lived near my son, so it took just fourteen minutes to reach her. If I had been home, I would have been three hours away. I followed the ambulance to the hospital and comforted her before surgery. Our moments belong to God.
This was the experience of a woman whose son God had resurrected through the prophet Elisha 2 Kings — I really like this resource because you can dig deeply or skip around depending on the day. It does require a little preparation if you want to do some of the activities, and I recommend it for children who are at least five years old.
Unlike a lesson plan for parents, this is a book for children to own and peruse themselves. My favorite thing about this resource is that it introduces children to the Christian faith, telling stories about women like Amy Carmichael and Lottie Moon, and men like Polycarp, Athanasius, and Augustine.
This book is recommended for kids eight and above, and I think kids around that age will love it. Ware has avoided that pitfall completely by writing a book of rich theology in simple, engaging language. The lessons include a read-aloud portion, two discussion questions, and a memory verse.
